Beverly Buchanan Beverly Buchanan was born October 8, 1940 in Fuquay, North Carolina; while being raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina where her father happen to be the doyen of the School of Agriculture at South Carolina State College which during that marches happen to be the only school available for students of African-American ancestry to pick up .
